I have had a slight name change since HS. I was "Skippy" in school. I got that name because Mom named the girls and Dad the boys. Dad selected "Albert", which Mom didn't like. So she gave me the nickname of a child from a Radio Soap Opera that she followed. I shortened the nickname to "Skip" in college and that has stuck.

Bailey's on Crosstimbers

List your siblings and year.

Galia and Veda went to Jeff Davis HS and were about 10 years older. Little brother Kirk Allen was 10 or so years behind me and went to Burbank and Sam Houston.

As a parent with six grown children and the loss of a granddaughter with a heart transplant, this saying has some truth to it: "you are only as happy as your least happy child".

Ever been on TV? Tell us all about it.

Once after doing undercover work on some Columbians which made the papers, a local TV station wanted to interview me. My boss wouldn't let them unless my face was not shown. The reporter gave me a gorilla "halloween mask" to wear - very hoaky and unnecessary. My next door neighbor and good friend put a sign up the next day in his front yard that read "Not this house, he lives there" with an arrow pointing to my house.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

The times with children and grandchildren is the most fun. In spare time Jane and I work with the "Young Marrieds" class at church and do some volunteer work for the American Cancer Society. My three grown sons and both sons-in law play golf and want me to join them. One gave me paid lessons last Christmas, which I haven't used. I have the clubs though - that's an important step!

Name something you dearly love. and why?
