I started aout at SHSU as a voice major but only stayed in school a year. I went to work for Sears & Roebuck on Shepherd in the catalog Dept and also worked fulltime at the phone company. I met my now divorced husband, Hurst Barbee and married in 1978. Became a mom in 1979. Unable to go back to work due to my dahguter becoming sick often. Stayed at home and was a domestic engineer with the rest of my children. I was active in the church choir and as children choir director. Home room mom every year for my children. Involved in baseball and swimming. Started teaching myself cake decorating. Moved to Pearland in 1990. Started school at Alvin Community College to become an RN and graduated Cum Laude in 1993. At the time I was taking care of three children, a home, a mom, a sister and grandmother that were ill. That was quite a feat for me at the time. Started working in a nursing home in Webster, Tx in 1993 and stayed there 6 years as an Assistant Director of Nursing. Then I started working for hsopice and have doing that ever since. There was a 6 month period that I lived in Bellville Tx and worked at the Bellville General Hospital I lived with my mom-in-law taking care of her. got a divorce in march 2006. Then the grandkids started coming--2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 x2, December 2010, April 2011. I enjoy taking care of them and spoiling them. I joined the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in 2006. I started on the Merchandise Committee. Then audtioned and got in the Western Heritage Rodeo Choir. I'm taking a leave of absence in 2011 due to grandchildren being born to help out with. I am currently an On-call Hospice RN working nights-Monday-Thursday and off Friday-Monday afternoon.
