North Shore Elementary in Houston Texas.

What Jr High (s) did you attend?

I attended South Jr. High School in Waco Texas for one year, then moved to Houston where I attended Burbank Jr. High.

Do you see or hang out with any class mates? Who?

I only speak with classmates on Facebook. Now and then, I'll speak with one over the phone.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

I am a singer/songwriter/and author. I also write poetry.

Where was your favorite HS hangout?

I use to love to hang out at Northline Mall and Shakey's Pizza. In fact, I sang at Shakey's Pizza every weekend starting at the age of 16.

List your siblings and year.

I have one brother, James Reid born in 1968.

School Story:

Mr.Ray was GREAT! *** Cosmetology classes were three hours long and Mrs. Carpenter was some kind of something else! I'll never forget her!*** The riots...I thought I was going to die that morning but my dad showed up- rescued me - then took home loads of kids in the back of his pick-up truck.*** Mr.Sylvester thought it was funny when I wouldn't cut the little frog.(It was still alive) I cried so he sent me to the bathroom. That's enough. I could go on for hours!

Favorite Quote

I am an animal lover so I guess my favorite quote is from the Bible.
Romans 12:10 - Blessed is the man who cares for his animal.

Famous or interesting people you've met?

Because I have sang at a few concerts, I met and had supper with Hank Williams Jr. This was a long time ago! A friend of mine, Cindy Kainer went with me. I met Ronny Milsap and sat on the stage beside him and watched him as he played the piano during a concert. That was awesome! One of the most amazing song writers and singers I met was Dottie Rambo. She was in a lot of pain that particular night and I helped her walk to her car. I could go on and on about people I've met briefly, but they meet me and forget me. The only person I've met who will never forget me if Jesus Christ. The day I met Him. Is the very best day of my life! He is the one I write my songs about and my books, although fiction are spiritually based. JESUS...He is the MOST famous and by far the MOST interesting!

Ever been on TV? Tell us all about it.

I was on 'Dialing for Dollars' when I was about 14 with my Mom and my neighbor Nancy Fenner Wimberly. Me and Bobby and PeeWee from Shakeys were also on the Labor Day Telethon for Jerry's Kids. That was probably about 1971 or 1972.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

When I'm not writing, I do my Bible study, play with my dogs, call Mom on the phone, check out my Facebook page and Email and watch a little TV.

Name something you dearly love. and why?

As I already said, I love the Lord. He saved my soul from sin. I love my husband. He has been my husband for 31 years. We dated for five years before we married. God blessed me with a wonderful man. I love my daughter. She's the only one I have...I knew she would be the only one I would ever have because she is adopted. I can't have a child of my own. Lindsey is a gift from God - a Miracle!
I love my Mother. I thank God I still have her with me. Dad went to Heaven in April and I still miss him so much it hurts. I love my only brother. I wish he would call and visit more often. I adore my dogs: Dino, Dina and Gidget. They are my furbabies.

Comments:

To make a story short: Right after I graduated I went to work at Gabor Salons as a hair dresser. A Shampoo and Set was $2.50. Can you believe that???? I married Johnny in 1979. We moved to Terrell,Tx until 1983 then moved to Livingston,Tx to help Johnny's Mom run her two restaurants. We adopted Lindsey in 1985. (I met the 15 year old girl at a beauty shop I was working at.) We bought a house, planning to stay in Livingston, but that house was blown away by Hurricane Rita. So, now we are here... in Waco. God blessed us with a lovely home.
