School Story:

Sitting by Donald McBroom in journalism class and begin itching only to discover that I was allergic to a sweater he was wearing...we were just classmates but just being close to that darn sweater triggered an allergy to whatever it was made of. Journalism was my favorite class and I adored Nancy Barton the instructor. I learned a lot from her. I also won third place award in featurette writing in state competition for writing an article about students who went to teen court and teacher got a parking ticket while there.

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

I thought about being a journalist.

What and where was your 1st job? Do you remember how much you were paid?

First real (non part time) was office work for Central Freight Lines.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Read and yard work

I enjoyed my years at Sam Houston and the friends I made but did lose track since I married someone outside of our group who was from Aldine. Big mistake, a four year mistake but I have been married for over 42 years to Jackie Riggs who is from Mineral Wells, TX and 14 yrs older than me....
