School Story:

I was president of the FFA in 1966.
I also showed the Grand Champion Chickens in the SH Livestock Show. We were the class that brought the first greenhouse to SHHS.
Played a little football.
Managed the football team 1 year.
Met alot of great classmates and even had my heart broken a time or two!

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

I wanted to become a US Marine. Veit Nam was ragging! My Grandfather was in WWI, my Dad was in WWII, my brother was in the Army, but my hero was my Uncle who was in the Marines. I wanted to serve with the best! I love my country and would gladly give all I am or all I ever will be, to protect the freedoms we have in the USA. I wanted the oppressed people of South Vite Nam to have the opportunity for a better life! I STILL believe that God does not intend for anyone to suffer, but the world (ruled by greedy men) can be an evil place and as someone once said: "The best way for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing." I know I am a good man. So I knew I MUST do something. I DID!

What and where was your 1st job? Do you remember how much you were paid?

My first job started when I was 9 years old. I started working with my dad in his janitorial business. We worked Monday-Thursday at night and ALL Day & half the night on Sundays.. Our pay was a roof over our heads, food on our table, and a high school diploma from SHHS.

Favorite Quote

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21) KJV

Famous or interesting people you've met?

Jesus Christ - Have you met Him?

Ever been on TV? Tell us all about it.

No. But I helped make a commercial for Budweiser Beer one time at Memorial Park. They paid me $50.00 for the day"s work, but it never made the TV.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Spend time with my wife of 49 years, our two children Denise & Jeffery, and our 5 grandchildren. Travel (some) read, work, play (just about any game you can think of), from golf to ping pong, to basketball, to shuffleboard, to swimming, to target shooting, to etc. to etc.

Name something you dearly love. and why?

I dearly love Jesus Christ because He saved me from a path of destruction. I also dearly love the Word of God because it has been a source of strength and encouragement to me for the past 36 years. I dearly love my wife Dionie because she is the glue that keeps me together, the light that brightens my dark path, and the strength I need in my times of weakness. I dearly love my children and grandchildren because they bring so much joy into my life.

Comments:

I joined the Marines right out of HS where I served as a helicopter machinic. I served 10 months in Veit Nam as a crew chief aboard a CH46 Sea Night helicopter. After 4 years in the USMC I was honorably discharged as a Sargent E-5. I returned to Houston with my wife and daughter in 1971 where I became a printer and went to college. I graduated from North Harris County College in 1978. On April 15, 1979 I met Jesus. He changed the direction of my life and in 1981 I went to pastor my first church. I have pastured in Cleveland, Austin, Kingsville, and Houston. I have been a youth camp director, caretaker, and coordinator. I have taught in a Christian school in San Antonio, TX, and in 1999 I founded Right Way Christian Academy in Houston, Tx. I was ordained a Bishop on June 6, 2002. I served as Sr. Pastor of Oak Glen Church of God of Prophecy from 1997-2013, President of RWCA Ministries Inc. 2000-2011, and the Sr. Administrator/Principal of Right Way Christian Academy 1999-2012. I authored and published my first book; "The Vision: Where Arte You?" in 2012. I am currently serving as the Manager of Camp Lost Pines (www.camplostpines.com) in Warda, TX. (2013-present.)

Any words of wisdom?

No matter what you have been through or what your issues are, Jesus Christ Loves You! If you choose to follow Him, He will gladly lead you and you will find the peace that passes all understanding!

Is there a moment in your life that stands out? A moment that defines who you are? Other than kids being born or your wedding day.

It was Easter Sunday, April 15, 1979. I heard about the price Jesus paid for my sins and about His forgiveness. I yielded my heart to the Savior and allowed Him to be Master of my life! He changed my life forever!! Old things were passed away, all things became new. What a joy!!
