What elementary school(s)did you attend?

I attended the very first year DeChaumes Elementary School opened (1956). I just loved going to school every day and I made some very good friends that I ended up spending the next 12 years with: Herbie Halpert, John Borho, Frank McCuller, Allen Taylor, Melinda Draper, Debbie Born, Pam Martin, Diane Datry, Gloria Pilsik, Doug Hawthorne, and many others that I cannot remember their names. I remember fondly skating at Rainbow Rollerink, swimming at Lindale Park and at that pool on Northline Street, down the road from the Hirshfield's. I remember riding my bike to school and thinking how grown up I was.

What Jr High (s) did you attend?

I attended Fonville Junior High and I remember being scared to death my first day. I was so afraid I would get lost changing class to class as in elementary school we were all in one class all day. Those were some fun days, shopping at Northline Mall was a really big deal and I remember the first Jack in the Box on the corner of Airline and I think Tidwell but not sure.

What street(s) did you grow up on?

Grew up on Catamore from 1953-1961 then moved to Normeadow Lane until I married Daryl Yorek in 1973. My parents lived at 11210 Normeadow Lane until 1993 when they built a house in Magnolia, TX.

Do you or your family still live or own your house that you grew up in?

My mom and dad sold our house on Normeadow Lane and moved to Magnolia in 1994. They grew weary over the breakins and decided to move to the country. Built a beautiful place on an acre and a half. Of course, Magnolia has grown significantly but my mom is still there, my dad passed in 2009. My mom remarried in 2015 and she is having a wonderful life. I am blessed she is in great health and still looks beautiful.

Do you see or hang out with any class mates? Who?

I see a few now since I joined the planning committee for the reunion back in the earlier part of this year. It has been really fun getting reacquainted. I was married to two former Sam Houston graduates Daryl Yorek (69) and Dennis DeLoach (70) so I guess that can count. I also keep up with Ronnie Murray (70) and his wife, Debbie (71) along with Beverly Tanner and Judy Smelling (70). Another one of my best friends is Carolyn Yorek who I think graduated in 1974 or 1975. Meet a couple of times a year with a few that we started kindergarten together, Vicky Jurgik, Gloria Pilsik, Marilyn Lewellyn, Mary Kelly.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

I put myself through 10-1/2 years of night school at University of Houston to get my finance degree. Worked myself up the ranks in the oil and gas industry and became chief operating officer and president of my own energy trading company.

Where was your favorite HS hangout?

The Catacombs, Northline Mall, Rinky Dink, Catacombs, Liberty Hall, Bailey's and Travelers. Does anyone remember the giraffe straws they put in your vanilla cokes at Travelers?

List your siblings and year.

Judy Kay Wilson McCrary (1971) and Stephen F. Wilson (1972)

School Story:

I still have nightmares from Chemistry Class taught by Mr. Ryan (he was a little strange!)

What did you want to do or think you were going to do when you finished high school?

What and where was your 1st job? Do you remember how much you were paid?

My first real job was a part-time gig at Thom McAn's in Northline Mall.
