Class of 1968 Reunion April 20, 2013
Posted Tuesday, November 13, 2012 12:56 PM

The 45th Reunion was a great success with about 200 in attendance. We enjoyed a really fun oldies band with members of class of 1967 ( google their name for a YouTube music sample-  "Jensen Drive and Spring Street Band") ! Please make sure you keep your information UP TO DATE on this website so we can find you in five years! Please adjust your settings where you will get an email if anyone sends you a private message!  Our GOD SPEED list is up to 99 who have already passed over (that we know of), so each reunion is very precious! Please keep in touch and may God bless you, classmates!

Kudos to the planning and emplimenting committee members for the best reunion ever.  So many of us "met" face to face (at the reunion) for the first time in 45 years; but, it was if we knew each other like old time friends.  We've re-connected through Face Book.  We have prayed together, laughed together and cried together.  Our 50th will be here before you know it!  Hasn't the last 45 years flown by?  What' another 5 years?!?!  Melba Reeves Johnston, Class of '68

  Melba,

On behalf of the committee, we appreciate your comments and hope to get a few new faces to join the committee to make the 50th the best yet ( our son asked if they still had reunions after 50??). Of course we will, for as long as we can! Every reunion is now so precious! I hope Marylou Stringer Nettles will lead us again!  Also, I agree Facebook enhanced the experience for so many, so we'll have to offer to tutor the Facebook phoebes on  how to enjoy it safely with all private settings, etc!  Facebook has been a window into so many of our classmates lives, depending on how often they participate, and the over age 60 crowd is the fastest growing on Facebook. I love keeping in contact with my two kids on the east coast and even my sister's nephew in Japan, getting to know classmates whose paths did not cross mine much in our huge class, as well as giving and receiving prayers for our ill classmates and their families.

If each one of you would try to find at least one of our missing, it would sure help. Start with their proper name from this list on this website or our yearbook.  Then try nicknames. Use the name with and without quotation marks on google, advanced zabasearch, and also www.whitepages.com to search address ( try looking in Texas first and then leave the state blank to search all over. You can specify the age range, which helps).send them a letter if their phone number is unavailable!  The more unusual the name, the easier to find. Don't pay for info as many of those sites will scam your credit card. When you find a classmate, please get them to post their info on this site! Heres a photo of a group from our 40th! Thanks  again, and may we all realize God holds us in his hands and cares for us whatever challenges we face!
